Ho Ho Ho

Christmas is just around the corner ...
as time just jet streams past, it seems...
so I have another item to add to my
"Christmas Thru The Year" box.

I turned this printed piece into a cushion with lots of FMQ to hold it together. I LoVe the way it turned out... and so easy too!
Tick off another month... yippee!

These just seemed appropriate... today
SnoW ArT...

Questions...
What do elves learn at school?            The elf-abet!
What do snowmen eat for breakfast?    Snowflakes !
How many chimneys does Father Christmas go down?   Stacks!

WaTcH OuT...

I think these little guys are breeding...

A few readers asked...
This is how I knitted mine (I'm NO pattern writer)... for an adult head.
Cast on 9 stitches and knit 3 rows in K1. P1.
Increase 1stitch on the middle stitch in every 4th row until 29 stitches.
Continue rib until desired length ( approx 14in).
Cast off 1 stitch by K3tog in the middle, every 4th row until 9 stitches.
Knit 3 rows in rib... then cast off... leaving last stitch on needle.
Transfer to crochet hook and make chain length for button loop.
Crochet 1 sc in every other stitch around edge.
Make a flower to suit... even add a button for the centre if you like... add a button on end... wear it and be WaRm !

I received from Sharon the "ApRoN" she made in the recent AlpHABeT challenge... and I'm soooo very HaPPy. Here it is under my mechanical helper ... and it's a PerFecT fit.  I LoVe it Sharon! Yippee....

Already added some tools....

SoMe NeW FrieNdS

This is "All About Sewing" in Charmhaven NSW (Australia), where members of the Central Coast Modern Quilt Guild meet.

These lovely and friendly ladies work there... and made me feel very WeLcoMe.

During the meeting we had a cuppa...
ate some "birthday" cake...

sampled some delicious "rocklea road" that a member made...
Completed the business end of the get together... then...
I actually did some sewing on this...

It's a flannel quilt in greys and reds... and is a W.I.P.

I also had an email saying that my Once A Season Swap partner had received her package during the week,  so I thought I would show what I sent over the ocean to Michell in New Zealand. As this was a "winter" theme I thought Michell might need to stay warm...
Tea Cosy with matching Pot Mat
And a lovely warm woollen pink scarf for herself...
with a few other little items.
Michell said she was HaPPy... so that makes me HaPPy too!

Do I HeaR SleiGh BellS ?

Or is it just Christmas carollers?
NOOOO ... it's santa... and she has 4 gifts all ready for Christmas.

Thanks Narelle... for hosting this wonderful group each month.
I   J-U-S-T   loVe   it!

I made 4 "BonBons" for DD1. She asked "santa" for red and white ones... so of course "santa" obliged.
There have been a few BiRThDaY CeLebRatiONs this week...
so I thought a little humour was in order...
NOT that I think these apply to any of those of course ! ...

The AlpHaBeT challenge has CLOSED. Emails will be sent asap.
CHaLLenGerS... keep an eye on your letterbox...
Delivery of your "A" package... arriving soon.

This Challenge winner is... DANETTE (USA) Quilting Chemist

I recently made this "block keeper" and I'm really happy with the way it turned out!  I made the pattern up so I can't share where the inspiration came from... except inside my jumbled brain...lol! But it will hold lots of 12 1/2 inch blocks... neat, clean and tidy.
The fabric makes me think of SpRinG which brings a smile to my face.

A Thought to Ponder!

Cheese, Wine and Scotch are some of the many
things better aged...

But what about Employees?
